SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH TRAE THA TRUTH SHOOTING…
The investigation into a deadly shooting at a Houston strip club that left three people dead and two injured, including rapper Trae Tha Truth, has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man.
According to KHOU.com, Feanyichi Uvukansi turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday [July 4] for questioning in the June 20 shooting outside the renamed Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club (formerly known as Scores Cabaret). Police arrested Uvukansi and charged him with capital murder for the deaths of local rapper Coy “Poppa C” Thompson, Erica Rochelle Dotson, and Carlos Durell Dorsey.
Investigators believe the gunplay was a result of a previous beef involving Poppa C, who reportedly was involved in a domestic dispute on June 17. The 23-year-old rapper was an associate of Trae Tha Truth’s ABN crew.
As previously reported, more than 20 shots were fired in the parking lot of the strip club as patrons were exiting the establishment. Trae and another man sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the gunfire. In his first interview following the shooting, Trae surmised he and others were all innocent bystanders.
“I’m not sure exactly what the altercation was necessarily about, but long story short, whatever transpired, they ran in my direction, so in the process of running in my direction, that kind of had everybody in the open,” Trae said! “So as the altercation came my way, shots were being dispersed, but since it was coming our direction, it was a crowd of people. Everybody was wrong place, wrong time.”
The Grand Hustle signee has since been released from the hospital and is recovering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
As the investigation continues Uvukansi is being held without bail… Giztzzz… madetv!
