LUPE FIASCO KICKED OFF STAGE AT OBAMA's INAUGURAL CONCERT…

lupe fiasco

Lupe Fiasco has long been a stout critic of Barack Obama, but many are questioning the timing of his latest dig at the president. Fiasco was thrown off stage at inaugural event on Sunday night for performing an anti-war song that was critical of the Obama administration.

Despite his history of being very anti-Obama, Fiasco was booked as a headliner at the StartUp RockOn inauguration concert. When Fiasco took the stage at the Hamilton in Washington, D.C., he was not among the many that came out to celebrate the start of Obama’s second term as president. Rather than perform many of his notable hit songs and crowd favorites, Fiasco launched into a 30-minute set where he played one anti-war song throughout.

The Chicago MC made it clear that he did not vote for Obama in the 2012 election and that he was not in support of the many wars the U.S. government backs. Security eventually took the stage and asked the rapper to leave. Hypervocal, the company that organized the event, released a statement clarifying that the plug wasn’t pulled on the performance because of Fiasco’s anti-Obama stance.

“This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.”

Throughout the 2012 election Fiasco made headlines for his opinions about Obama. He stirred emotions this past June when he called the president a “terrorist.”

“My fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America,” he told CBS.com. “You know the root cause of terrorists is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists.”

Fiasco has yet to comment on his ejection from last night’s show. He recently shut down his Twitter account after announcing the delay of his album, Food & Liquor 2.              Giztzzz…                      madetv!
