JAY ELECTRONICA DENIES EVER GHOSTWRITING FOR NAS…
Jay Electronica never ghostwrote for Nas, according to Jay Elec himself. In a recent interview, the “Exhibit C” rapper dispelled recent rumors that he and dead prez‘s stic.man supplied lyrics for Nas’s 2008 album Untitled.
“Nas is one of the gods, one of the greatest of all time, one of the godfathers of even my own style,” he said. “I met him on a humble submission and he is one of the greatest ever — he never has or never will need a ghostwriter. He’s legendary, his pen game is unquestionable; salute to Nas.”
The New Orleans rapper, now signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, produced the opening song on Untitled, called “Queens Get the Money.”
Previously stic.man also came forward to downplay his involvement in Untitled, responding to a rumor started by the rap blog Rappers I Know and bolstered by veteran music writer dream hampton.
“My contributions to his album was a collaboration and an honor and under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say,” he wrote previously on Facebook.
In an interview last month, Nas himself denied ever using a ghostwriter. He said instead that he takes inspiration from sources all around him.
“You know who’s my ghostwriters? My friends, people I meet on the street, things I read… I hear people say something and I get something from that,” he said… Giztzzz… madetv!
