TWITTER REMOVES 140-CHARACTER LIMIT ON DIRECT MESSAGES…
Global social media site, Twitter, is fulfilling the hopes and dreams of many. No longer are the days of creatively sliding in the DM’s of hopeful bae’s and cleverly trying to entice them to give up the digits in 140 characters or less.
Today (Aug. 13), Twitter announced that their direct message feature will no longer abide by its notorious strict character count. Now, users will have 10,000 characters to chat it up via mobile apps, desktop apps, and the web. “It’s the No. 1 request we get from folks,” Sachin Agarwal, product manager for DMs, tells mAdE t.V sources. “They want to be able to say what’s on their mind and be themselves.
While Twitter is lifting its character limit on the DM side of things, they will not do the same with tweets. Twitter also advises users to upgrade to the latest version of the app to make sure that the restriction will work correctly.
