USHER & JUSTIN BIEBER RECEIVE $10MILLION LAWSUIT FOR COPYRIGHT VIOLATION…

Usher and Justin Bieber just got hit with a major case. The pair have been served with a $10 million lawsuit for the reported copyright violation of Biebs’ 2010 song “Somebody to Love.”

The track is featured on the 21-year-old’s album My World 2.0, and was brought into question by songwriter Mareio Overton and singer Devin Copeland. They state that Usher and Bieber’s collaborative melody sounds similar to their track of the same moniker.

In a statement, Circuit Judge Pamela Harris said, “After listening to the Copeland song and the Bieber and Usher songs as wholes, we conclude that their choruses are similar enough and also significant enough that a reasonable jury could find the songs intrinsically similar.”

The case was initially dismissed in 2014 after U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright Allen stated “no reasonable jury could find copyright infringement. Watch & Listen to the song below…
