R&B ARTIST,GINUWINE IS BROKE!

ginuwine-bankrupt-and-divorcing

In the book of finances, Ginuwine is reportedly approaching the dreaded Chapter 11. According to the R&B singer’s lawyer, he’s “very close to declaring bankruptcy.”

The revelation comes in the midst of a legal battle between Ginuwine and Robert Reives, who executive produced the former’s debut album, The Bachelor. Reives claims he’s owed royalties from Ginuwine’s $1.25 million five-album deal, and seeks up to $250,000, while the TGT member insists the demand misses the statute of limitations, making it null and void.

Regardless of the civil lawsuit’s outcome—the two sides argued their cases Monday at Manhattan Federal Court—Ginuwine’s lawyer, Bruce Beckner, has stated that his client’s fiscal troubles stem from his recent split with rapper Solé.

“He owes my firm a ton of money and a bunch of other people a ton of money,” Beckner says. “He owes Uncle Sam 300-odd thousand dollars in back income taxes.”

Still, Ginuwine insists that he and his wife of more than a decade are "separated," not divorced.

“We are NOT yet divorced, but we ARE currently separated and working towards coming to our own agreement, without lawyers, to amicably and fairly divorce,” he wrote in an Instagram caption on Tuesday. "Reports that she left me 'broke' are untrue. She has been a good wife and mother and my poor choices and actions over many years have lead to this. I am on a path of becoming a better man and part of that is taking responsibility for my own choices and behavior in life."

Regardless of his unfortunate marital status, it seems Ginuwine is in a financial bind.
