breaking from ymcmb

Not everyone enjoys being tied to Lil Wayne. A teenage singer is looking to break free from Tunechi’s YMCMB label and is suing to make it happen.

In court documents obtained, 15-year-old Torion Sellers claims he auditioned for Wayne at the age of 13 and impressed the New Orleans rapper, who praised his talent as “God-given.”

He was then signed to YMCMB and given a Spring 2012 deadline for his debut release. More than a year later, he says, the label hasn’t kept its promise. Furthermore, YMCMB has allegedly neglected Sellers all together and never got court approval to sign him as a minor.

Sellers wants to dissolve the agreement on grounds that the legal paperwork was never handled properly. If a judge sides in his favor, the contract will be null and void, opening the crooner up to land another deal, which he believes will happen just as soon as the walking papers are granted.

Wayne hasn’t responded to Sellers’ allegations. The father of four founded YMCMB in 2005 as a division of Cash Money Records. Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga are some of the artists on the team alongside their label head.

As a unit, YMCMB has sold more than 10 million records worldwide…                Giztzzz…            madetv!
